Prenatal Care

Diamond Women’s Center offers comprehensive prenatal care, delivery, and postpartum care.

We are a group practice that consists of 6 Physicians and 3 Nurse Practitioners who work collaboratively throughout your pregnancy journey to offer optimal, individualized care. You may choose to work with one – or all – of our providers during your prenatal care visits.

During your initial prenatal visit, you will likely be seen by a Nurse Practitioner who will gather your health history, perform a physical exam, and educate you about your pregnancy. They will provide you with options for screening, aneuploidy testing, and expectations for visits and potential ultrasounds.

As no two pregnancies are alike, we individualize your prenatal care as needed. We have many resources to ensure you and your baby are well taken care of. Any testing and/or ultrasounds that are indicated will be discussed with you and your provider. They include:

  • Nuchal Translucency Ultrasound
  • Fetal Anatomical Ultrasound or Level II ultrasound
  • Obstetric Growth Ultrasound
  • Non-stress testing
  • Biophysical Profile
  • Non-invasive Prenatal Testing (MaterniT21)
  • Carrier Screening
  • Amniocentesis (done by Maternal Fetal Medicine)

If your pregnancy is considered “high-risk” for any reason, you may also receive a referral to work alongside our Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. They will collaborate with us to optimize your testing and treatment plan. Reasons for collaborating with our MFMs may include:

  • Multifetal Pregnancies
  • Gestational or Pre-gestational Diabetes
  • Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy
  • Fetal Congenital Anomalies
  • Others on an individual basis

Labor & Delivery

Whatever your goals are for your pregnancy, we would like to hear them! Our mothers deliver at two hospital locations around the Minneapolis-Metro area:

The onset of labor is often unpredictable. We have a 24-7 on-call service available if you think you are or may be in labor. Our practice works together as a team of 6 physicians to care for you during your labor process. One of our physicians will always be available for you, however, we cannot guarantee which physician will deliver your baby. At times, we can plan your delivery if you are being induced or have a scheduled cesarean section.
